Pupusas (Order of 3)

A pupusa is the national dish of El Salvador. Pupusas are a thick griddle cake or flatbread. Made with cornmeal flour, similar to the Venezuelan and Colombian arepa. It is usually stuffed with one or more ingredients which may include cheese, chicharron, or refried beans. It is typically accompanied by curtido (a spicy cabbage slaw) and tomato salsa.
